The following are a list of books I’ve found helpful and thought provoking. Many of which are suggested texts for teacher trainees, others are helpful tools for starting a home practice, understanding your anatomy in asana, and among my favorites are the philosophical texts. What makes up a well-rounded practice is the ability to break down the layers (mind, body, spiritual) and explore each one with time, respect, and practice. Yoga is a lifelong practice, so taking time to digest the valuable insights and being patient in your process is key. Patience and discipline allows you to integrate the practice into your daily life, where the most beneficial changes occur.

book3Om Yoga: A Guide to Daily Practice
By Cyndi Lee

This is a great book for students who are beginning to practice on their own. It’s also a great resource for traveling when needing help putting together a self-practice. There are daily sequences, one for each day of the week, helpful tips on meditation, relaxation, and dedicating your practice. It’s a very fun, light book to help guide you on your journey.
